fragt doch mal bei Insidern wie Nadja & Yahya Al-Madani von "Arabeske" wegen . Sie sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Könnte mir vorstellen, dass sie sich freuen, wenn sich jemand für Syrien interessiert und gerne Tipps für Übernachtungen, Reiserouten etc. geben.

nun hab ich dir meine Hilfe angeboten, aber Tipps zu Reise auf eigene Faust kann ich dir nicht richtig geben da ich in einer Gruppe unterwegs war. Ich habe aber Kontakte zu Agenturen vor Ort. Wenn du willst, dann schick mir ne PN und ich geb dir Mailadressen. Die wollen aber auch gerne immer ihre Touren verkaufen, das geht aber auch zu zweit und ist nicht so teuer.
Ich hab geschaut - leider hab ich keine Infos zu Busfahrplänen oder so.

wir wollen natürlich in diesen zwei Wochen möglichst viel sehen und anhand der bislang erworbenen Reiseführer bin ich mir nicht so ganz sicher, wie ich eine Rundreise am besten aufziehen soll.
Unbedingt rein sollen natürlich Damaskus, Aleppo, Palmyra und die Kreuzritterburgen.
Apamea und Ugarit hätte ich auch gerne gesehen.
Wie würdet Ihre die Reise aufziehen, bzw. von wo nach wo gibt es Verbindungen mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln und von wo nach wo geht gar nichts?

Ein sehr interessantes Land! Hoffe, Du hast mindestens drei Wochen Zeit. Natürlich brauchst Du als erstes einen guten Reiseführer. Der beste deutschsprachige ist "Syrien" von Gernot Rotter, zuletzt 1999 gedruckt und leider vergriffen, auch antiquarisch sehr gesucht.

Dann ist da noch auf Englisch: Ross Burns, "Monuments of Syria"; sozusagen jeder Stein ist hier beschrieben und historisch eingeordnet, alfabetisch sortiert; wenn Du weißt, was Du anschauen willst, ein gutes Nachschlagewerk.
