CAIRO: Egypt's chief archaeologist says the inner chambers of the 4,500-year-old "bent" pyramid will be open to the public for the first time as part of a new plan to develop the area south of Cairo.
Egyptian antiquities head Zahi Hawass says the chambers of the 4th Dynasty pyramid of Pharaoh Sneferu known for its uneven or bent profile will be opened "in a month or two" for tourists.
The 330-foot (100 meter) high pyramid is located in the desert 50 miles (80 kilometers) south of Cairo in the town of Dashur near several other pyramids.
Also on Monday, Hawass announced a new year-long project in cooperation with the United Nations to preserve the area and develop neighboring villages. (Quelle Daily Egypt News)

glaube ich nicht dran. er hatte auch gesagt dass abusir noch 2008 geöffnet werden würde ...
